ADC Holds Grand Finale Campaign in Ekiti as David Mark, Aregbesola Mobilize Support
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has concluded its governorship campaign in Ekiti State with a large rally featuring prominent political figures including former Senate President David Mark and former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola, as the party makes a final push ahead of the upcoming election.
The grand finale, held in Ado-Ekiti, drew party supporters, local stakeholders, and political leaders who gathered to mobilize voters for the ADC governorship candidate. Speakers at the rally emphasized unity, governance reforms, and economic development as key priorities for the party if elected into office.
David Mark, a key figure in Nigeria’s opposition coalition efforts, urged voters to consider what he described as a need for leadership change, calling for a government that prioritizes security, infrastructure development, and youth empowerment in Ekiti State.
Similarly, Rauf Aregbesola appealed to supporters to turn out massively on election day, stressing that the ADC represents a new political direction focused on accountability and grassroots development.
Party officials used the event to highlight their campaign promises, including improved healthcare delivery, agricultural support for rural communities, and job creation programs for young people. They also criticized the ruling party’s performance in key sectors, arguing that a change in leadership was necessary for progress.
The rally marks the final major political gathering before voters head to the polls, with parties intensifying efforts to secure support across the state’s 16 local government areas.
Security agencies were present in strategic locations around the venue to ensure order during the event, as political activities reached their peak ahead of the election.
The Ekiti governorship race has drawn significant attention due to its perceived importance as a political indicator ahead of future elections in Nigeria. Analysts say the outcome could influence broader political alliances and momentum at both state and national levels.
With campaigning now concluded, attention shifts to election day, where voters will decide between the major contenders vying for control of the state government.
