The Kano State Government has announced the appointment of Super Eagles forward, Ahmed Musa, as the new General Manager of Kano Pillars Football Club. This strategic move is expected to leverage Musa’s wealth of experience and leadership to reposition the club as a formidable contender in the league.

According to the Director-General, Media and Publicity, Government House, Kano, Sunusi Bature, the decision to appoint Musa was made following wider consultations with stakeholders. Bature stated that the government expressed confidence in the ability of the reconstituted board to deliver under the current administration.

The new management board, comprising experienced individuals, includes Ali Muhammad Umar as Chairman, Salisu Kosawa, Yusuf Danladi, Idris Garu, Nasiru Bello, Muhammad Ibrahim, and Abdulkarim Chara, among others. Abubakar Dandago and Ismail Abba were appointed as Media Director I and II, respectively.

Musa’s appointment is seen as a significant boost to the team, given his iconic status as a former Super Eagles captain and player for Kano Pillars. His leadership is expected to bring a renewed vision, global attention, and strategic guidance to the club.

“Ahmed Musa’s appointment is a strategic move to leverage his wealth of experience and leadership in repositioning the club as a formidable contender in the league,” the government statement read.

The Sai Masu Gida finished ninth in the NPFL last season and are yet to appoint a substantive head coach following the resignation of Usman Abdallah in May. With Musa at the helm, the team is likely to undergo significant transformations, both on and off the pitch.
