Yusuf Buhari, son of former President Muhammadu Buhari, has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Daura/Sandamu/Mai’adua Federal Constituency seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Yusuf clinched the party’s ticket unopposed following a stakeholders’ meeting held in Katsina on April 28, where he was unanimously adopted as the consensus candidate.

The decision was announced by Ahmed Dangiwa, who chaired the Daura Zone Consensus Committee.

Reacting to the development, APC Chairman in Mai’adua Local Government, Mannir Musa, urged party members to accept the outcome in good faith and work together to strengthen party unity.

He also called on Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda to support aspirants who did not secure tickets, encouraging them to remain active in serving their communities.

Other candidates adopted through the consensus arrangement include Nasir Yahaya for the Daura senatorial district and Mustapha Musa for the Mai’adua constituency in the Katsina State House of Assembly.

In his remarks, Yusuf Buhari thanked party stakeholders for the confidence reposed in him, pledging to deliver effective and quality representation if elected.
