The ruling All Progressives Congress has congratulated Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji on his re-election as Governor of Ekiti State, describing the outcome as a strong endorsement of his leadership and developmental agenda.

In a statement issued on Sunday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the APC said Oyebanji’s victory was historic, noting that he had become the first incumbent governor in Ekiti State’s democratic history to secure re-election.

The party said the outcome of the election reflected the confidence and trust reposed in the governor by the people of the state.

“This win is a loud demonstration of the confidence of Ekiti people in Governor Oyebanji, his visionary leadership, people-centred policies and unflinching commitment to the development and progress of the state,” the statement said.

The APC also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission, security agencies and other election stakeholders for their roles in ensuring a peaceful and credible electoral process.

According to the party, the professionalism and dedication displayed by the various institutions contributed significantly to the successful conduct of the governorship poll.

The ruling party further praised residents of Ekiti State for their peaceful conduct and active participation throughout the election.

“We remain exceedingly grateful for their steadfast support and endorsement of our great party, its policies and progressive ideals,” the APC stated.

Expressing optimism about the governor’s second term, the party said Oyebanji was well-positioned to deepen development initiatives across the state and improve the welfare of residents.

The APC added that the governor’s renewed mandate would provide an opportunity to consolidate on existing achievements while advancing the implementation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda in Ekiti State.
