The Catholic Television of Nigeria has named the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, as its Man of the Decade in recognition of his contributions to nation-building and support for the Catholic Church.

The announcement was made in a statement ahead of the organisation’s 15th anniversary celebration scheduled for Thursday this week, where Governor Uzodimma has also been invited as keynote speaker.

According to a letter signed by the Executive Director of Catholic Television of Nigeria, Rev. Fr. Patrick Alumuku, who also serves as the Communications Director of the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja, the governor will speak on the topic: “The Role of Communication in the Modern World: A Tool for Renewed Hope.”

The television station also proposed a partnership that would include daily broadcasts of the Imo State Government’s activities across its platforms.

“To further strengthen our relationship, we humbly request to render a daily broadcast of your government’s uncommon achievements on our platforms,” the letter stated.

The organisation also indicated plans to honour the governor’s wife, Her Excellency Barr. Chioma Uzodimma, with a special award during the anniversary event.

CTV noted that it currently transmits on GOtv Channel 115 and DStv Channel 197, adding that it looks forward to hosting the governor and celebrating the milestone with him.

The station also described its reach as spanning an estimated 189 million viewers across Africa.
