The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has issued a strong warning to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying the administration should be concerned about growing public frustration amid worsening economic hardship.

In a statement that has sparked reactions across political circles, the opposition party said the real challenge facing the government is not political rivals but millions of Nigerians grappling with rising inflation, unemployment, and declining living standards.

The ADC argued that the current socio-economic realities have intensified suffering across the country, urging the government to shift focus from political manoeuvring to addressing pressing issues affecting citizens. According to the party, widespread hardship has fueled public anger, which could have significant political consequences if not urgently addressed.

The statement comes amid ongoing criticism of government policies, particularly reforms that have led to increased fuel prices and cost of living. While the administration has defended its policies as necessary for long-term economic stability, opposition parties maintain that the immediate impact on Nigerians has been severe.

Political analysts say such rhetoric reflects growing tension between the ruling government and opposition groups ahead of future electoral cycles, as parties position themselves around key national issues.

The presidency has yet to officially respond to the ADC’s remarks, but government supporters have continued to defend the administration’s reforms, insisting that the policies will eventually yield positive results.
