The National Youth Leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Balarabe Rufa’i, hosted former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and former Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi in Kano as political consultations within the opposition party continue ahead of future electoral activities.

The meeting, held in Kano, brought together party leaders, youth stakeholders, and supporters to discuss party development, youth participation in governance, and strategies for strengthening the ADC’s growing presence across the country. The engagement comes amid increasing political realignments that have attracted prominent figures from different political backgrounds into the party.

Sources within the party said discussions focused on expanding grassroots mobilization, strengthening party structures, and promoting greater youth involvement in political leadership. Participants also emphasized the importance of building a broad-based platform capable of addressing national challenges and deepening democratic participation.

The visit underscores Kano’s growing importance in opposition politics following recent developments within the ADC, including the influx of prominent political figures and ongoing efforts to consolidate support across the northern region. Political observers say the state has become a major hub for consultations among opposition leaders seeking to strengthen collaboration ahead of future elections.

Tambuwal, a former governor and influential opposition figure, has played a visible role in recent ADC activities, while Fayemi remains a respected political leader with significant influence within Nigeria’s democratic landscape. Their presence at the Kano meeting is being viewed as part of broader efforts to build consensus and foster unity among stakeholders within the opposition movement.

Party officials reiterated their commitment to youth empowerment, inclusive governance, and the development of strong democratic institutions. They expressed optimism that continued engagement among leaders, youths, and grassroots supporters would strengthen the party’s capacity to contribute meaningfully to national development.
