Former Senator Elisha Abbo, who represented Adamawa North, has surrendered himself to the Nigeria Police Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja. He is facing allegations of raping a 13-year-old secondary school student. The incident was reported to have occurred on June 29, 2025, at Abbo’s residence in the Katampe area of Abuja.

The parents of the minor have spoken out, revealing that Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed, widely known as Binani and a former governorship candidate in Adamawa State, visited their home. They stated that Binani pleaded with them not to disclose the scandal. The parents further alleged that following the incident, Abbo repeatedly sent money to the victim’s father. They described these financial transactions as a clear attempt to suppress the matter.

As of the latest updates, Abbo remains in custody at the FCID. This is not the first time the embattled former lawmaker has been involved in a public controversy. In 2019, he was arrested after a video footage showed him physically assaulting a woman at a sex toy shop in Abuja. More recently, he was also accused by a married woman of blackmailing her with a sex tape.
