The Independent National Electoral Commission (Independent National Electoral Commission) has reinstated the National Working Committee (NWC) of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) led by Senator David Mark on its official portal.

According to details reported by Nigerian Tribune, the commission’s website now lists former Osun State governor, Rauf Aregbesola, as National Secretary, alongside other members of the party’s leadership.

The development follows a ruling by the Supreme Court of Nigeria, which nullified earlier interim orders issued in the protracted leadership dispute within the ADC.

In a unanimous judgment, the apex court held that the matter should be returned to the Federal High Court for full determination, describing the previous interim orders as “unnecessary, improper and unwarranted.”

The latest update marks a reversal of INEC’s earlier action in March 2026, when the commission removed the Mark-led leadership from its records after a Court of Appeal judgment and ongoing proceedings at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

INEC had at the time cited conflicting claims and correspondence from rival factions within the party as the basis for its decision.

While the reported portal update suggests a shift in recognition, the electoral commission has yet to issue a formal statement clarifying its position as of press time.

The ADC has been embroiled in a prolonged internal crisis, with multiple factions contesting control of the party’s national structure.
