Mercy Johnson-Okojie, Daughter Purity Unveiled as Co-Brand Ambassadors for Girls Tag
Nigeria’s menstrual health sector is witnessing a fresh wave of innovation with the launch of Girls Tag, described as the country’s first all-in-one period care kit tailored for young girls.
The initiative aims to provide adolescents with dignity, comfort and confidence by combining premium hygiene products with age-appropriate educational resources to support healthy development.
In a move to strengthen the brand’s reach and credibility, Nollywood actress and philanthropist Mercy Johnson-Okojie and her daughter, Purity Okojie, have been unveiled as co-brand ambassadors.
Speaking at the unveiling, Johnson-Okojie emphasized the importance of empowering young girls with knowledge and confidence as they transition into adolescence.
“As a mother, I want my daughter to step into womanhood without fear or embarrassment. Girls Tag is helping families replace shame with pride and confusion with confidence,” she said.
A key component of the Girls Tag kit is Johnson-Okojie’s newly authored book titled Youberty, a puberty guide designed for boys and girls aged 10–13. The book, included in every kit, provides relatable and practical guidance for children navigating puberty.
According to the promoters, the integration of educational material distinguishes Girls Tag from conventional hygiene products, positioning it as a holistic menstrual health solution.
Each kit contains premium sanitary pads in various sizes, overnight period pants for enhanced absorbency, panty liners, disposable disposal bags, and a discreet carrying pouch to promote privacy and confidence, particularly in school and public settings.
Representatives of iBlend Services, the regional agency for Girls Tag, said the partnership with Johnson-Okojie and her daughter reflects the brand’s commitment to authenticity and family values.
They noted that the ambassadors’ public journey as mother and daughter resonates with many Nigerian families, strengthening the brand’s appeal in the local market.
Girls Tag is scheduled for nationwide rollout in the second quarter of 2026. Distribution will be through retail outlets, pharmacies and malls, as well as direct sales via the brand’s official website and social media platforms.
Promoters say the initiative represents a broader commitment to advancing menstrual health awareness, promoting corporate social responsibility and ensuring that young girls across Nigeria grow up informed, confident and empowered.
