Ndume Accuses APC Members of Secretly Working Against Tinubu Ahead of 2027
Senator Ali Ndume has accused some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of secretly working against President Bola Tinubu despite publicly professing loyalty to him.
Ndume made the allegation while raising concerns about internal divisions within the ruling party ahead of the 2027 general election.
“Most APC members wear Tinubu’s cap in the morning, but work against him at night,” the senator said.
His remarks come amid concerns over the unity of the APC, following reported comments by Vice-President Kashim Shettima about the possibility of an internal crisis within the party ahead of the next general election.
Shettima reportedly expressed greater concern about a potential crisis within the ruling party than the political challenge posed by former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, underscoring the importance of cohesion among APC members and leaders.
Ndume’s comments have brought renewed attention to the relationships among party leaders and members, particularly the gap that may exist between public declarations of support for the President and political activities behind the scenes.
With the 2027 elections approaching, internal disagreements within the APC could become a significant issue as the party seeks to maintain unity and consolidate support for Tinubu’s re-election bid.
However, Ndume’s allegation reflects his assessment of the situation, and no specific evidence was provided in the statement to establish which party members he believes are working against the President.
