Nigeria Youths in Politics Release Strategic Mandate for 2027 Electoral Engagement, Unveils Five Pillars
The President of Nigeria Youths in Politics, Hon. Blessing Oyefeso, FCIIM, CIPPON, has announced the release of the organisation’s strategic mandate for the 2027 Nigeria Youth Electoral Engagement, as part of efforts to strengthen institutional framework for youth-driven political participation across the country.
In a statement, the President of Nigeria Youths in Politics, Hon. Blessing Oyefeso, explained that the mandate is designed to ensure discipline, coordination, accountability, and measurable impact in youth-driven political engagement across Nigeria. She stated that the National Working Committee is expected to operate within a defined tenure framework culminating in August 2027 after the general elections, and must submit periodic reports on its activities in line with constitutional provisions of the organisation to ensure transparency and performance.
Hon. Blessing Oyefeso disclosed that the mandate is built on five strategic pillars. These include electoral governance and ethical political engagement; stakeholder engagement for nation building; electoral accountability through the deployment of over 300,000 Electoral Guards across polling units of the federation; security collaboration for peaceful elections; and youth mobilisation for political inclusion.
According to the statement, the NWC structure includes the Chairman, Deputy Chairman, Deputy Zonal Chairmen, Secretary, Legal Affairs, Organising Secretary, Treasurer, Financial Secretary, Publicity Secretary, zonal and state structures, and key directorates such as Electoral Affairs and Monitoring, Partnership and Stakeholders Engagement, Monitoring and Evaluation, and Student Engagement and Campus Affairs, in order to ensure effective coordination and delivery of the mandate given to the NWC.
Hon. Blessing Oyefeso noted that this framework reflects a shift toward structured, disciplined, and accountable youth participation in Nigeria’s democratic process ahead of 2027.
She further announced that the NWC is expected to be inaugurated during the Democracy Day Conference billed to hold on June 10, 2026, at FCT Abuja, with the theme: “The Time Is Now: Youth Building a Sustainable Democracy.” She added that the Democracy Day Conference will bring together past leaders, current administration officials, delegates from youth organisations and student unions, as well as civil society organisations executives. The statement was signed by Hon. Blessing Oyefeso as President of Nigeria Youths in Politics.
