Nigerian Father of Two Dies in Sleep in United Kingdom
A Nigerian man based in the United Kingdom, Kayode Ogunbodede, has reportedly died in his sleep in Swansea, Wales.
According to reports, Ogunbodede passed away on May 26, 2026, leaving behind his wife and two daughters aged six years and six months respectively.
The incident was made public through a GoFundMe appeal launched by Olatunde Owoeye-Phoster to support the deceased’s family.
The appeal described Ogunbodede’s death as sudden and devastating to both his family and members of the Nigerian community in the UK.
Ogunbodede was said to be an active member of Elim City Church as well as the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
Friends and associates reportedly remembered him as calm, supportive, and always willing to assist others.
According to the fundraising appeal, donations would be used to support funeral expenses, childcare, and household needs for the family, especially as his wife is currently unemployed.
As of the time the report was published, the campaign had raised £480 out of its £18,000 target.
