Supporters and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) loyal to Senator Shehu Buba Umar have contributed N50 million to purchase his governorship nomination form ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Bauchi State.
The contribution was made under the platform of the Contact and Mobilisation Committee for Shehu Buba Governorship 2027, a political support group backing the senator’s gubernatorial ambition.
Leader of the group, Alhaji Muhammadu Sade, said the decision followed extensive consultations and careful assessment of the political situation in the state.
According to him, members of the group unanimously agreed to support Senator Buba as a credible, competent, and people-oriented aspirant capable of leading Bauchi State.
He stated that the N50 million raised for the purchase of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship nomination form was a demonstration of their strong confidence in the senator’s leadership capacity.
Sade noted that the gesture was not only financial but symbolic, reflecting their belief in Buba’s track record, grassroots accessibility, and commitment to the welfare of the people.
He added that Senator Buba had consistently shown exemplary leadership, legislative competence, and a strong understanding of the developmental challenges facing Bauchi State.
According to him, the senator’s vision for a more prosperous, secure, and united Bauchi aligns with the aspirations of residents across the state.
He further explained that the group’s decision was driven by the need to reposition the state for sustainable development, improved infrastructure, better education, enhanced healthcare delivery, economic growth, and inclusive governance.
The supporters said they remain committed to ensuring that Senator Shehu Buba Umar emerges as the APC governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections.
