NNPC LTD REFUTES ALLEGATIONS OF SUBSTANDARD FUEL IN VIRAL VIDEO

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Ltd has denied allegations made in a viral video claiming that its fuel does not last. In a statement, NNPC’s spokesperson, Olufemi Soneye, described the claims as “baseless and entirely unfounded, originating from unverified and amateur research that lacks credibility, accuracy, and professional oversight.” Soneye reaffirmed that NNPC’s fuel is “carefully formulated with one of the best compositions, ensuring optimal efficiency, durability, and environmental sustainability for consumers.” He also emphasized that a significant percentage of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) sold at NNPC retail stations in Lagos is sourced from the Dangote Refinery, which adheres to strict industry standards. The NNPC spokesperson condemned the viral video as a “desperate attempt by economic saboteurs to misinform the public and tarnish NNPC Ltd’s reputation.” He warned that the company will take firm legal action against individuals or groups who intentionally spread falsehoods about its brand and operations. Soneye urged the public to disregard the “fabricated content” and rely on verified sources for accurate information. He reiterated that NNPC Ltd remains committed to ensuring fuel availability, affordability, and quality for all Nigerians while maintaining global industry standards.
