Tinubu Commends Frontline Troops, Salutes Sacrifices in Fight Against Terrorism
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended Nigerian military personnel and other security operatives for their ongoing efforts in the fight against terrorism, describing them as the nation’s first line of defence against those seeking to destabilize the country.
In a statement, the President praised soldiers, police officers, intelligence operatives, and members of other security agencies for their courage and resilience in protecting communities across forests, highways, border areas, and remote operational zones.
He noted that security personnel continue to bear the heavy burden of safeguarding citizens, enabling millions of Nigerians to live, work, worship, and conduct daily activities in relative safety despite ongoing threats.
Tinubu acknowledged the risks and sacrifices associated with the operations, stating that the dedication of frontline personnel has remained steadfast even in the face of difficult terrain, operational challenges, and personal loss.
The President also extended appreciation to families of security personnel, recognizing the emotional and personal sacrifices made by loved ones who support officers serving in high-risk environments.
He paid tribute to fallen heroes who lost their lives in the line of duty, describing their sacrifice as central to the survival and protection of the nation.
Tinubu further emphasized that the fight against terrorism is a collective responsibility, urging citizens to support security efforts by providing timely and useful intelligence to authorities.
He reiterated that Nigeria will not be defined by violence or intimidation, stressing that terrorist groups and criminal networks do not represent the values or identity of the Nigerian people.
The President concluded by thanking all security personnel for their service and praying for their continued protection as they carry out their duties across the country.
