Tinubu Reschedules Foreign Trip, Now Set to Depart Sunday
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has rescheduled his planned three-nation trip to France, Kenya, and Rwanda, with his departure now fixed for Sunday, May 3, instead of the earlier announced Saturday date.
The change was disclosed by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, in a post on his official X account. No reason was provided for the adjustment.
The President is expected to begin the trip in France before heading to Nairobi, Kenya, for the Africa-France Summit scheduled for May 11 to 12.
The summit, to be co-chaired by Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto, will focus on key issues including energy transition, climate action, and economic cooperation.
Following the summit, Tinubu will proceed to Kigali, Rwanda, to participate in the Africa CEO Forum slated for May 14 to 15, where discussions will centre on investment opportunities and regional economic growth.
At both engagements, the President is expected to present Nigeria’s reform agenda, attract foreign investment, and hold high-level meetings with global and African leaders.
