Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has paid tribute to fathers across the country and around the world, commending their love, sacrifice, and commitment to family and nation-building.

In a message to mark Father’s Day 2026 on Sunday, Senator Tinubu described fathers as indispensable pillars of society whose guidance, protection, and dedication help shape the character and future of their children.

The First Lady noted that fathers play a crucial role in building strong families and communities through their unwavering commitment to providing for and nurturing their loved ones.

“On this Father’s Day 2026, we celebrate the love, strength, and sacrifice of fathers across Nigeria and around the world,” she said.

According to her, fathers contribute significantly to the development of society by instilling values, confidence, and discipline in the younger generation.

Senator Tinubu also extended appreciation to father figures, mentors, and role models who positively influence the lives of children and young people.

“Today, we honour all fathers, father-figures, role models, and mentors who show up each day, working to provide for their families,” she stated.

The First Lady prayed for fathers to continue serving as sources of wisdom, strength, and inspiration to their families and communities.

“May you continue to be a source of wisdom, strength, and inspiration to your families,” she added.

Father’s Day is celebrated annually to recognise and appreciate the contributions of fathers and father figures in nurturing families and supporting societal development.
