Yusuf Buhari Declares 2027 House of Reps Bid for Daura Constituency
Yusuf Buhari, son of former President Muhammadu Buhari, has formally declared his intention to contest for the Daura/Sandamu/Mai’adua Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives ahead of the 2027 general election.

Yusuf made the declaration on Thursday in Daura, Katsina State, while addressing party stakeholders and supporters under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
His announcement came shortly after a consultation visit to Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, as part of efforts to secure political backing for his ambition.
“I am here to seek your support, and I assure you that if elected, I will do my best and will never disappoint you,” Yusuf told supporters.
At the event, the Dan Madamin Daura and District Head of Dumurkol, Musa Haro, appealed to constituents to rally behind Yusuf’s candidacy, promising broad consultations across towns and villages.
He also acknowledged the performance of the incumbent lawmaker, Aminu Jamo, noting that political competition should be constructive.
“Even the current member did his best. We know how politics is — nobody can do 100 per cent,” he said.
Yusuf Buhari was accompanied by a former representative of the constituency, Fatuhu Muhammad, along with other family members and political associates during the declaration.
The Daura/Sandamu/Mai’adua seat is currently held by Aminu Jamo, setting the stage for what could become a closely watched contest within the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.
