The lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, James Faleke, has picked up the All Progressives Congress (APC) Expression of Interest and Nomination forms on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Faleke, who also serves as the founder of the Tinubu Support Groups, received the forms on Tuesday in Abuja from the APC National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Argungu, marking the formal commencement of Tinubu’s re-election bid.

The payment and collection of the forms, valued at N100 million, signal President Tinubu’s readiness to seek a second term under the platform of the ruling APC.

Speaking during the presentation, party officials described the move as a significant step in preparations for the 2027 general elections as the APC begins its internal nomination process.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has already fixed the Presidential and National Assembly elections for Saturday, January 16, 2027, while governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections are scheduled for Saturday, February 6, 2027.

INEC also announced that party primaries, including the resolution of disputes arising from the exercise, will take place between April 23, 2026, and May 30, 2026.

According to the commission, campaigns for the presidential and National Assembly elections will commence on August 19, 2026, while governorship and state assembly campaigns will begin on September 9, 2026.

The development is expected to further shape political alignments within the APC as preparations intensify ahead of the next general elections.
