Board of Peace Flags Funding Gap, Urges Faster Disbursement for Gaza Reconstruction

The U.S.-led Board of Peace overseeing Gaza’s post-war reconstruction has raised concern over a widening funding gap, calling for faster release of pledged donor funds to prevent delays in humanitarian and rebuilding operations.

According to recent reports, the board noted that although international partners have pledged billions of dollars toward Gaza’s recovery plan, only a limited portion of the funds has been disbursed, slowing critical projects including infrastructure restoration, housing development, and emergency relief supply chains.

The funding mechanism, designed to coordinate multilateral contributions for Gaza’s reconstruction, has reportedly been hindered by donor hesitancy, administrative bottlenecks, and transparency concerns among participating states.

Officials involved in the process warn that unless disbursement is accelerated, the gap between pledged and released funds could further stall recovery efforts in the war-affected enclave.

While the initiative remains central to the broader post-conflict stabilization plan, stakeholders continue to debate the efficiency and governance structure of the Board of Peace and its financial oversight system.
