FIRST LADY OLUREMI TINUBU URGES WOMEN CEOs TO CHAMPION ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT AND MENTORSHIP
Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called on women in leadership positions to work towards making life easier for other women through economic empowerment and mentorship. Special Adviser on Media to the First Lady, Busola Kukoyi, in a statement, quoted Tinubu as making the call during a visit by the Forum of Female Chief Executives Officers of Government Agencies and Organizations at the Presidential Villa.

Tinubu described the CEOs as trailblazers who have a duty to replicate themselves in younger women, saying, “Birth yourselves in others. Look for them to mentor them. Replicate yourself in other women and that is the way we would be strong”. She emphasized the importance of coming together like great matriarchs such as Funmilayo Ransome Kuti and Margaret Ekpo did for Nigerian women.
“We have to come together, better and stronger than them. We have to ensure that we make life easier for women. Mentor young women, give scholarships, take one person through life. Don’t look for the volume,” Oluremi Tinubu urged. She also highlighted her call for partnership in completing the National Library to support indigent students.
Oluremi Tinubu commended the Forum’s dedication to good governance and service, with leader Hon Abike Dabiri Erewa pledging support for the Renewed Hope agenda and initiatives promoting women’s empowerment. The Forum, comprising 24 female CEOs, affirmed commitment to collaborating with Tinubu’s office on unity and progress for women.
“We pledge to work collaboratively with your office… and implement initiatives that promote women’s empowerment and national development,” Erewa stated, expressing solidarity with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.
