Russian Drone Strikes Hit Key Ukrainian Port, Damage Critical Infrastructure

Russian drone strikes targeted a key Ukrainian port overnight, causing damage to infrastructure and intensifying concerns over the security of vital export routes, Ukrainian officials have said.

According to regional authorities, the attack hit port facilities in southern Ukraine, an area critical to the country’s grain exports through the Black Sea. Emergency services reported fires and structural damage following the strike, though the full extent of casualties remains unclear.

Ukraine’s military said air defence systems intercepted several incoming drones, but some managed to breach defences and strike designated targets. The assault is part of a broader pattern of Russian attacks on Ukraine’s port and energy infrastructure, which Kyiv says are aimed at crippling its economy and disrupting global food supply chains.

Local officials described the attack as deliberate and strategic, noting that port infrastructure has increasingly become a focal point in recent months. The damaged facilities are believed to play a key role in Ukraine’s agricultural export network, particularly shipments of grain to international markets.
