Seriake Dickson Defends NDC Registration, Urges Public to Ignore “Propaganda”
Former Bayelsa State Governor and Senator representing Bayelsa West, Seriake Dickson, has dismissed claims questioning the legitimacy of the National Democratic Coalition (NDC), insisting that the group was duly registered in accordance with the law.
Dickson made the remarks while reacting to criticisms and allegations circulating in some quarters that the coalition was either improperly constituted or lacks legal standing. He described such claims as “propaganda” aimed at misleading the public and undermining the group’s objectives.
According to the senator, the National Democratic Coalition followed all necessary legal and procedural requirements during its registration process. He stressed that the coalition remains a legitimate platform for political engagement and advocacy.
“The public should disregard the misinformation being spread by propagandists. The NDC is properly registered and operates within the bounds of the law,” Dickson said.
The former governor further noted that attempts to discredit the coalition are politically motivated, adding that such narratives are designed to create confusion and weaken opposition voices ahead of future political developments.
Political observers say the controversy surrounding the NDC reflects broader tensions within Nigeria’s political space, particularly as new alliances and coalitions continue to emerge.
While critics have continued to raise concerns about the structure and intentions of the coalition, Dickson’s comments reaffirm confidence among supporters, who view the NDC as a credible platform for political participation and reform.
