Soldier’s Wife, Two Children, Others Killed in Fuel Tanker–Bus Crash
At least nine people have been confirmed dead following a tragic road accident involving a fuel tanker and a passenger bus at Kabarin Bature village in Gashaka Local Government Area of Taraba State.
Security sources and local residents said the crash occurred on April 21 when the tanker reportedly collided with a passenger vehicle, resulting in the immediate death of seven occupants at the scene.
Two additional victims who sustained severe injuries were later confirmed dead after being rushed to the General Hospital in Bali, where they were receiving treatment.
Among those killed were the wife and two children of a Nigerian soldier serving at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Buratai under Operation HADIN KAI.
Their bodies, alongside other victims of the crash, have since been deposited at the hospital mortuary.
Witnesses said emergency response teams and residents attempted to assist survivors, but the impact of the collision left multiple fatalities on the spot.
Authorities have since launched an investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the fatal crash.
