US to Issue Limited-Edition Passports Featuring Trump for 250th Anniversary
The United States Department of State has announced plans to release a limited number of special commemorative passports featuring a portrait of President Donald Trump, as part of celebrations marking the country’s 250th anniversary of independence in July.

The passports, part of the broader “America250” programme, will include customized artwork that blends Trump’s image with historic American symbolism. According to officials, the design places the president’s portrait on an interior page alongside elements of the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. flag, while another page features a depiction of the Founding Fathers signing the historic document in 1776.

Authorities say the commemorative passports will retain all standard security features of regular U.S. travel documents, ensuring they remain valid for international use. The limited-edition booklets are expected to be issued without additional cost to applicants, though availability will be restricted and distribution may be tied to specific passport offices.
The initiative forms part of a wider set of activities planned to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, including national events and commemorative items. The Trump administration has also promoted other symbolic projects tied to the anniversary, such as special coins and branded federal initiatives.

While supporters describe the move as a patriotic tribute to the milestone anniversary, critics have raised concerns about the increasing personalization of national symbols and government-issued materials.
The commemorative passports are expected to be rolled out ahead of Independence Day celebrations in July, with standard passport options continuing to be available to U.S. citizens.
