Zeberced Group has unveiled a multi-billion-naira investment programme that will train 2,000 Nigerians in technical and vocational skills and create 40,000 direct jobs, in a move expected to boost Nigeria’s industrial workforce and tackle youth unemployment.

The company also announced plans to establish a FIFA-approved football academy to discover and groom young talents for professional careers, while accelerating investments in manufacturing and industrial infrastructure across the country.

The Managing Director of Zeberced Group, Adil Aydin Kurt, made the disclosure when the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, led by its Chairman, Comrade Grace Ike, paid a courtesy visit to the company’s facilities at the Abuja Industrial Park Free Zone.

Kurt said the company’s flagship project is a state-of-the-art Technical and Vocational Training School expected to admit about 2,000 young Nigerians annually in various technical disciplines, producing an estimated 20,000 skilled graduates over the next decade.

He said the initiative would also create about 40,000 direct jobs, positioning the facility as one of the largest vocational training and employment projects in West Africa.

According to him, the institution is designed to bridge Nigeria’s skills gap by producing highly trained professionals for key sectors of the economy while promoting entrepreneurship and self-employment.

“Zeberced is currently working on a vocational training school which will offer training in various fields to young Nigerians and, in the process, provide 40,000 direct jobs. This is going to be a sample project and is presently the biggest operation of its kind in West Africa,” Kurt said.

The school will provide specialised training in Construction Technology, Machine and Design Technology, Motor Vehicle Technology, Plumbing Technology, Metal Technology, Furniture Technology, and Electrical and Electronics Technology.

Kurt said Zeberced’s long-term vision extends beyond skills development, noting that the company is investing in projects capable of transforming Nigeria into a major industrial hub.

He disclosed that the company is planning a FIFA-approved football academy that will identify gifted children and youths and provide them with world-class training to compete professionally both within and outside Nigeria.

“We are very serious about our work. I have many ideas and visions to share. We need to bring qualified people from different parts of the world to Nigeria because the future is Africa,” he said.

The Managing Director further revealed that Zeberced operates what he described as Africa’s first integrated mining quarry and is expanding its footprint in manufacturing, construction and industrial infrastructure.

He added that the company intends to facilitate the establishment of hundreds of factories within the Idu Industrial Area in Abuja to stimulate local production, create employment opportunities and reduce dependence on imported goods.

According to Kurt, the industrial development initiative began about 15 years ago and has continued to progress despite operational challenges.

He said investments in furniture manufacturing, plastics production and other industrial ventures, backed by modern technology and infrastructure, would play a significant role in Nigeria’s economic transformation.

Responding, NUJ FCT Council Chairman, Comrade Grace Ike, applauded Zeberced Group for its commitment to youth empowerment and national development, describing the vocational training project as a strategic intervention that aligns with Nigeria’s drive for economic diversification.

She also appealed for the company’s support in completing the Council’s ultra-modern Congress Hall project, which has reached the decking stage.
