A prominent commander of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has been apprehended by security forces. The individual, known as Gentle, was captured along with eight additional criminal suspects during a series of coordinated missions in the country’s southeast region. The operations were executed in the Owerri West and Mbaitoli areas of Imo State, as well as in the Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

The Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Markus Kangye, officially disclosed this development at a biweekly press conference held in Abuja. “The troops of Operation UDO KA have successfully arrested a wanted IPOB commander, Gentle, and eight other suspected criminals in separate, well-coordinated operations,” Major General Kangye stated. He further confirmed that the military continues to record significant successes in its ongoing nationwide campaigns. Reaffirming the armed forces’ dedication, he said, “We remain steadfast in our commitment to safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial integrity and ensuring lasting peace and security for all citizens.”
