Britain’s King Charles III and Queen Camilla have concluded their four-day state visit to the United States with a symbolic farewell that blended solemn remembrance with public celebration.

The royal couple began their final day by saying goodbye to Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump at the White House, marking the end of a high-profile diplomatic trip aimed at strengthening U.S.-UK relations.

They then travelled to Arlington National Cemetery, where they laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in honor of fallen American service members. The ceremony included a military salute and a moment of silence, underscoring the long-standing military alliance between the United Kingdom and the United States.

Later in the day, the royals shifted to a more celebratory tone, attending a community “block party” in Front Royal, Virginia as part of America’s 250th anniversary events. The gathering featured music, performances, and interactions with local residents, offering a lighter and more personal conclusion to the visit.

The visit, which included stops in Washington, D.C., New York City, and Virginia, was widely seen as a diplomatic effort to reinforce ties between the two nations amid global tensions, including disagreements over the Iran conflict.

King Charles also delivered a historic address to the U.S. Congress during the trip, becoming only the second British monarch to do so, while both royals participated in multiple cultural and political engagements.

Following their final engagements, the King departed the United States for Bermuda, officially bringing the state visit to a close.
