Saudi Arabia to Pay Gaza Orphans $100 Monthly, Extends Aid to Africa, Europe

Saudi Arabia has expanded its humanitarian assistance to vulnerable children in the Middle East, East Africa and Europe, with new programmes providing monthly financial support and other forms of assistance to thousands of orphans and their families.

The programmes are being implemented through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), Saudi Arabia’s main international humanitarian aid agency.

In Gaza, KSrelief has signed an emergency support programme with the Saudi Center for Culture and Heritage to assist 1,500 orphaned boys and girls and families who have lost their breadwinners.

Under the programme, each beneficiary will receive $100 in monthly sponsorship payments, alongside clothing, school bags, stationery, recreational activities and toys. The initiative is also expected to indirectly benefit about 4,500 family members and caregivers.

The Gaza programme includes digital verification and mechanisms for disbursement, accountability and safe referrals, according to details released by the Saudi Press Agency.

In East Africa, Saudi Arabia has launched a separate programme for orphans in Djibouti, providing each beneficiary with $80 per month.

The agreement, signed between KSrelief and the Refaq Association in Hail, also includes clothing support and vouchers distributed through a contracted commercial partner.

The programme is expected to directly assist 400 people and indirectly benefit another 1,600 people, including families caring for the children.

Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian programme has also been extended to Europe, with KSrelief signing an agreement with the Islamic Community of Kosovo to support 700 orphans across 29 governorates.

The programme includes monthly sponsorship payments, school bags, winter clothing and recreational trips. It is intended to help families meet essential expenses including food, housing, healthcare and education.

The three initiatives form part of Saudi Arabia’s broader humanitarian assistance through KSrelief, which has operated programmes across numerous countries since its establishment in 2015.

According to figures reported by Business Insider Africa, KSrelief has implemented thousands of humanitarian projects worldwide, including substantial assistance to countries affected by conflict, displacement and natural disasters.

The latest programmes demonstrate the breadth of Saudi Arabia’s overseas humanitarian operations, with the new orphan-support initiatives simultaneously covering communities in Gaza, East Africa and Europe.
