OSE ANENIH RESIGNS FROM PDP, CITES FAMILY COMMITMENT
Ose Anenih, son of the late Chief Tony Anenih, a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has resigned from the party, citing family commitment as the reason for his departure. In a letter dated August 18, 2025, and addressed to the PDP Ward Chairman of Arue Ward 3 in Uromi, Edo State, Anenih explained that his decision followed deep personal reflection and would take effect immediately.
“This decision was not made lightly,” Anenih wrote, recalling his long commitment to the PDP since its founding. “From the very beginning, I have stood with the PDP through its triumphs and its trials, bound by a belief in the promise of Nigerian democracy and in the ideals that first drew me to the Umbrella.”

Anenih expressed gratitude to the PDP leadership and members for their support over the years, wishing the party success in its future endeavors. “At this point in my life, however, I must step back from the arena of partisan politics. My duty now lies first with my family and with other responsibilities that demand my full attention,” he stated.

Despite his resignation, Anenih reaffirmed his commitment to Nigeria’s progress, pledging to remain engaged in civic discourse that promotes good governance and national development. “My commitment to Nigeria’s progress remains unshaken. I will continue to contribute to intellectual and civic conversations that seek to improve governance and, above all, the lives of the governed,” he said.
Anenih’s resignation comes at a time of heightened political activity in Edo State, as the PDP grapples with internal dynamics while preparing for upcoming electoral contests. His departure is likely to spark conversations within the party about its direction and cohesion in the region.
