The Progressive Next Generation Initiative, PNGI, has dissolved its interim executive committee which was led by Honourable Faisal Lawal. The committee was inaugurated just three months ago. The group’s Convener, Honourable Jeffery Omoh Ozemegwa, announced the dissolution in a statement on Saturday.

Ozemegwa said the decision was a result of ongoing structural reviews intended to strengthen the organisation’s internal cohesion. He stated the move is aimed at repositioning PNGI for data-driven political engagement and grassroots mobilisation, which will begin in the Federal Capital Territory.

The Convener praised Lawal and his team for their contributions. He described their efforts as “notable contributions, sacrifices and stabilising support” during the organisation’s early formative phase. Ozemegwa added that the interim executive committee helped to consolidate outreach structures and deepen internal processes during its tenure.

With the dissolution, Ozemegwa announced he will now assume direct supervision of all PNGI activities. This is a temporary measure pending the announcement of a substantive executive committee. He clarified that the new committee will be unveiled after necessary consultations are concluded.

Ozemegwa emphasised that the organisation’s strength lies in its collective identity. He stressed that every member is an equal stakeholder who is expected to contribute to the group’s growth, policy engagements and strategic political analysis.

He further stated that the organisation remains committed to fostering inclusion, innovation and civic-driven participation. This commitment will guide its expansion of grassroots footprint and the refinement of its frameworks for political communication, electoral education and community engagement.

Ozemegwa also disclosed a forthcoming event, revealing that PNGI is preparing to host the AMAC Chairman on December 2, 2025. This engagement is expected to deepen collaboration with key stakeholders within the Federal Capital Territory’s governance ecosystem.
