Ukrainian drones struck a port facility and an oil depot in southern Russia overnight, regional authorities said, in the latest escalation of long-range attacks targeting critical energy and logistics infrastructure.

Officials in the affected regions reported fires breaking out after multiple drone impacts, with emergency crews deployed to contain the blaze and assess damage to fuel storage facilities and port operations.

According to Russian regional statements, the attacks targeted key infrastructure used for fuel storage and transportation in the southern industrial corridor.

Emergency services were dispatched to the oil depot after explosions triggered large fires, while operations at a nearby port were reportedly disrupted as authorities assessed structural damages.

The strike forms part of a growing pattern of Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian territory, increasingly focusing on energy facilities, refineries, and logistics hubs far from the front lines.

Kyiv has not officially commented on the latest incident, in line with its usual policy regarding strikes inside Russia, but has previously said such operations are aimed at weakening Moscow’s war capacity.

Russia’s southern oil and shipping infrastructure has become a recurring target in the conflict, raising concerns about supply disruptions and rising insurance risks for maritime and fuel transport routes.

Analysts say continued attacks on energy assets could have broader implications for regional fuel distribution and export stability.

While no immediate casualty figures were confirmed, authorities often warn that such strikes carry risks of secondary explosions, fires, and environmental damage due to fuel storage exposure.

Cleanup and repair operations are expected to continue for several days depending on the scale of the damage.
