PRESIDENT TINUBU ASSURES COMPLETION OF EASTERN RAIL LINE, ANAMBRA BASIN ENERGY RESERVE DEVELOPMENT

President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to completing the Eastern Rail line connecting Port Harcourt to Maiduguri. The President made this promise during an interactive session with South East leaders in Enugu State on Saturday. He also pledged to support the development of the Anambra Basin, which is estimated to hold up to 1 billion barrels of oil and 30 billion cubic feet of gas. Former Minister of Power Professor Chinedu Nebo and Enugu State indigene Chris Ugoh appealed to the President to prioritize the completion of the Eastern rail line and develop the Anambra Basin energy reserve. President Tinubu responded, saying, “It is a work in progress. I inherited some of these critical problems and am committed to solving them.” He also emphasized the importance of gas infrastructure, stating, “Gas is an alternative to petrol. There is no wasting of time than to invest more in it. We will do it together, and I am lucky I have good governors”. During his visit, President Tinubu inaugurated several projects in Enugu State, including the GTC Smart Green School, New Haven/Bisalla Road, the International Conference Center, the Command-and-Control Center, and 150 patrol vehicles equipped with surveillance cameras. He praised Governor Peter Mbah for his development model and philosophy, saying, “We have committed leaders like Peter Mbah taking Enugu on the path of 21st-century development, taking Enugu to greater heights, and building our tomorrow today”. Governor Mbah commended President Tinubu for establishing the South East Development Commission and liberalizing the electricity sector. He reiterated his vision to grow Enugu’s economy from $4.4 billion to $30 billion within 4 years, emphasizing the importance of security, quality education, and affordable healthcare.

PRESIDENT TINUBU COMMISSIONS LANDMARK PROJECTS IN ENUGU STATE

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived in Enugu State today for a one-day official working visit, marking his first official trip to the state. The Presidential aircraft touched down at Akanu Ibiam International Airport at 1:05 pm, where Governor Peter Mbah and other prominent Igbo leaders warmly received him. During his visit, President Tinubu commissioned several landmark projects completed under Governor Mbah’s administration, showcasing the state’s efforts to enhance education, healthcare, and infrastructure. The projects include the newly completed multi-auditorium Enugu International Conference Centre in Independence Layout, 30 fully equipped Smart Green Schools, and 60 Type 2 Primary Healthcare Centres, all part of broader State initiatives to improve education and healthcare across 260 wards of Enugu State. President Tinubu also inaugurated 90 completed urban roads in Enugu city, a state-of-the-art Command and Control Centre, 150 patrol vehicles equipped with AI-enabled surveillance cameras to enhance security, and several rural road projects. President Tinubu is expected to conclude his visit with a meeting with Southeast leaders, addressing key issues affecting the region.

PRESIDENT TO VISIT ENUGU STATE TO COMMISSION SEVERAL PROJECTS

More than a year after becoming Nigeria’s Leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR is embarking on a 2 day visit to Enugu State beginning on Saturday, January 4th, 2025. While in Enugu State, President Tinubu will commission several projects including 30 completed and equipped Enugu Smart Green Schools out of the ones that are still being built across the 260 wards in the state. The Nigerian president is also expected to commission the multi-auditorium and multi-functional Enugu International Conference Centre. He will also commission a state-of-the-art Command and Control Center, together with 150 patrol vehicles fitted with AI-embedded surveillance cameras at the Government House. The last programme is the Luncheon, where the President will address the people of Enugu State.

PRESIDENT TINUBU CHARGES GOVERNORS TO DRIVE NIGERIA’S DEVELOPMENT AND PROSPERITY

President Bola Tinubu emphasized the crucial role of state governors in driving Nigeria’s development and prosperity during a New Year homage by Vice President Kashim Shettima and members of the Nigeria Governors Forum at his Ikoyi residence in Lagos. He stressed that their leadership at the subnational level is vital for achieving food security, economic prosperity, and rapid national growth. Special Adviser to the President (Information & Strategy), Bayo Onanuga, in a State House press release, informed that President Tinubu expressed gratitude to the governors for their support and collaboration, highlighting key areas that require joint effort for the nation’s progress. “You are the most important link to Nigeria’s prosperity and development. The Federal Government accounts for about 30 to 35 per cent of the allocated revenue; the rest comes to you. The agricultural value chain depends on you. You own the land, and the job is in your hands,” he said, as noted by Onanuga. The President called for stronger collaboration between the federal and state governments to address pressing challenges, including local government autonomy, agricultural productivity, and currency stability. As Onanuga reported, Tinubu assured the governors that he is committed to local government development and autonomy, stressing its importance for grassroots development. Tinubu urged governors to prioritize agricultural growth as a pathway to economic stability. “We have to work harder, grow more, and ensure the situation of our currency improves. Nigeria will see prosperity, but it requires consistent effort from all of us,” he said. The President also acknowledged the progress made by the governors across the states, saying, “There is no state we cannot visit and be proud of its development. We have better allocations now. Let me take the abuse; you take the privileges. Together, we will build a nation we are all proud of”. Abdulrahman Abdulrazak, chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum and Governor of Kwara State, described President Tinubu’s declaration as Man of the Year by ThisDay newspaper as a significant endorsement of the administration’s policies. He noted that the acknowledgement reflects the tangible progress made under President Tinubu’s leadership. The President announced that he will be visiting Enugu State on January 4 as part of his planned visits to some states of the federation. He welcomed his declaration as Man of the Year and commended the newspaper for recognizing “what they considered a failure initially, but is now a success”.

GOVERNORS PLEDGE SUPPORT FOR PRESIDENT TINUBU’S FOOD SUFFICIENCY PLAN

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has assured Nigerians that state governors will support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s efforts to crash food prices and ensure food security across the country. A press release signed by Chief Press Secretary to the Edo State Governor, Fred Itua, disclosed that Governor Okpebholo made this statement after a meeting with President Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and other state governors at the President’s Ikoyi residence in Lagos. As noted by Fred Itua, Governor Okpebholo reflected on the progress and challenges of the previous year, emphasizing the need for state executives to work together to tackle the country’s challenges. Governor Okpebholo acknowledged the current food crisis and stated that governors are working closely with President Tinubu to implement agricultural programs aimed at reducing food prices. PRESIDENT TINUBU APPROVES ESTABLISHMENT OF FEDERAL UNIVERSITY IN SOUTHERN KADUNA

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given his consent for the establishment of a federal university in Southern Kaduna, according to Vice President Kashim Shettima. This development was revealed during a condolence visit to the Kukah family, who recently lost the Agwom Akulu of Ikulu Chiefdom, Yohanna Sidi Kukah, a family member of Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto.In a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media & Communications (Office of the Vice President), Stanley Nkwocha, VP Shettima disclosed that President Tinubu has also shown interest in establishing a Federal Medical Centre in Kafanchan, Kaduna State. VP Shettima emphasized the commitment of the President Tinubu administration to the development of Southern Kaduna, citing the appointment of General Christopher Musa as Chief of Defence Staff as evidence of the President’s attention to the security needs of the region. “Be rest assured that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has the people of Kaduna and the people of Southern Kaduna at heart,” he stated. PRESIDENT TINUBU COMMENDS NNPCL OVER RE-OPENING OF WARRI REFINERY

President Bola Tinubu has expressed his profound joy at the re-opening of the Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, describing it as another remarkable achievement in 2024 that has strengthened Nigerians’ hope in his administration. This development comes weeks after NNPC Limited restarted the 60,000 Barrels per day at the Port Harcourt Refinery in November, as stated in a press statement signed by Special Adviser to the President (Information & Strategy), Bayo Onanuga. According to President Tinubu, the re-opening of the Warri Refinery is a significant milestone in his administration’s determination to ramp up local refining capacity and make Nigeria a hub for downstream industrial activities in Africa. He praised the Mele Kyari-led management of the NNPCL for working hard to restore Nigeria’s glory and pride as a major oil-producing country. “The restart of Warri Refinery today brings joy and gladness to me and Nigerians. This will further strengthen the hope and confidence of Nigerians for a greater and better future that we promised,” President Tinubu said. The Warri Refinery, which has been inactive for several years, is now operating at 60% capacity, producing 125,000 barrels per day. President Tinubu noted that this achievement is a testament to his administration’s comprehensive plan to ensure energy efficiency and security. PRESIDENT TINUBU OBSERVES JUMAT PRAYER AT LEKKI CENTRAL MOSQUE IN LAGOS

President Bola Tinubu attended the Jumat prayer at the Lekki Central Mosque in Lagos on Friday afternoon, alongside the Muslim faithful. This was the President’s first public outing since attending prayers at the Alausa Central Mosque last Friday. In his sermon, the Chief Imam of Lagos Central Mosque, Ridhwan Jamiu, urged people to be grateful to Allah during times of fortune and patient during adversity. He reminded the faithful that unwavering hope and faith are essential to believers, even in challenging circumstances. Imam Jamiu acknowledged President Tinubu’s presence and offered prayers for his success in leading Nigeria towards peace, security, and prosperity. “We are proud of you. I remember that we encouraged people to vote for you during the campaigns. We thank God that you have not disappointed us,” he said. The Imam assured the President of the steadfast prayers and support of the Muslim Ummah as he governs the nation. “We know you are capable. We know you have the sagacity. We know you are competent. We believe and pray that you are not going to disappoint us.
