PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS NASIR NAEEM ABDULSALAM AS MD, AJAOKUTA STEEL COMPANY

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Nasir Naeem Abdulsalam as the Managing Director of Ajaokuta Steel Company, effective April 3, 2025. The appointment is in accordance with the provisions of the Certain Political and Judicial Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances, etc) Act 2008 as amended. Until his appointment, Abdulsalam served as the Technical Adviser to the Honourable Minister of Steel Development and Special Assistant (Academics) to the Director General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS). President Tinubu has tasked Abdulsalam to leverage his experience in the steel industry to revolutionize the company and generate important upstream and downstream industrial and economic activities. This is in line with the diversification drive of the Renewed Hope Agenda, aiming to position Nigeria as the industrial hub of Africa. According to Segun Imohiosen, Director, Information & Public Relations for the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Abdulsalam’s appointment is expected to bring significant growth and development to the steel industry in Nigeria.
