ACTORS GUILD OF NIGERIA MOURNS THE PASSING OF UMAR MAI KUDI ‘CASHMAN’
The National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Dr. Ejezie Emeka Rollas, MON, has expressed his heartfelt sorrow at the passing of Umar Mai Kudi, popularly known as Cashman, the former National President of Motion Picture Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MOPPAN). Special Adviser to the President on Media/Press Secretary, Cornell Udofia, in a statement, quoted Dr. Rollas as describing Cashman as an intelligent, articulate, and creative genius whose demise was a sad loss to the creative sector. “His lifetime was marked with indelible accomplishments through his services to the creative industry and humanity as he left strong legacies in the industry and would forever be remembered,” Dr. Rollas said. Cornell Udofia further stated that Dr. Rollas sent a heartfelt condolence to the immediate family, the creative community, friends, and members of MOPPAN on behalf of the Actors Guild of Nigeria. “We feel so bad that he had to leave at this auspicious time when the industry needed him most,” Rollas said, as quoted by Udofia. Dr. Rollas prayed that Almighty Allah forgive Cashman’s shortcomings and grant his soul Aljanat Firdaus. Cornell Udofia’s statement concluded with a message of condolence from the Actors Guild of Nigeria to the family and friends of the deceased. Dr. Rollas’ message of condolence underscored the impact of Cashman’s passing on the creative industry.
