SOUTH-EAST REGION NEEDS URGENT DEVELOPMENT INTERVENTION – NGO

A call has been made to the Federal Government, National Assembly, and South-East Governors to prioritize the development of the South-East region. Ikechukwu Nwabueze, Executive Director of the Orlu Progressive Initiative, made this appeal during a recent summit in Abakikiki, Ebonyi State. According to Nwabueze, the region’s rich cultural heritage and economic potential are being hindered by insecurity challenges, poverty, and inequality. He emphasized the need for a comprehensive approach to address these issues, involving all stakeholders, including policymakers, traditional leaders, and civil society organizations. Nwabueze stressed that sustainable development and peace can only be achieved through collective effort. He urged leaders to prioritize security, economic revitalization, and infrastructural development, and to work together to implement programs that benefit the region. The Orlu Progressive Initiative is committed to promoting peace, development, and stability in the South-East region. The organization focuses on key areas such as education, healthcare, economic empowerment, and humanitarian services. Nwabueze’s appeal comes at a time when the South-East region is facing numerous challenges. He believes that with the right interventions and collective effort, the region can achieve sustainable development and peace.
