DEADLY TERRORISTS ATTACK REPORTED IN KEBBI STATE COMMUNITY

The police in Kebbi State have confirmed a deadly terrorists attack in the Gebbe community of Shanga Local Government Area, stating that an unspecified number of persons lost their lives.

The state police command, in its account of the incident, said its officers responded swiftly to the assault. “Our officers responded swiftly and are making efforts to normalize the situation,” a police representative said. He further explained that a detailed assessment is underway. “Officers are currently assessing the extent of the attack, including the number of lives lost and injuries sustained, noting that an official statement would be issued.”

Local sources corroborated the attack, confirming that armed assailants invaded the community. These sources detailed that the terrorists entered Gebbe shooting indiscriminately, which resulted in the killing of several persons.

The violent incursion has caused widespread displacement within the community. Many residents were forced to flee their homes to escape the violence, with numerous individuals taking refuge in nearby bushes and neighbouring communities as the security situation remains tense.
