The Nigeria Immigration Service has announced an upward review of Nigerian Standard Passport fees, effective September 1, 2025. The new fees will apply to passport applications made within Nigeria, with the 32-page passport with 5-year validity now costing N100,000 and the 64-page passport with 10-year validity costing N200,000.

In a statement signed by Service Public Relations Officer, ACI AS Akinlabi, the NIS explained that the decision to review the fees was aimed at upholding the quality and integrity of the Nigerian passport. “The review which only affects Passport Application fees made in Nigeria, now sets new fee thresholds for 32-page with 5-year validity at N100,000 and 64-page with 10-year validity at N200,000,” Akinlabi stated.

However, Akinlabi noted that passport application fees for Nigerians in the diaspora will remain unchanged. “Meanwhile, Nigerian Passport Application fees made by Nigerians in diaspora remain unchanged at $150 for 32-page with 5-year validity and $230 for 64-page with 10-year validity,” Akinlabi added.

Akinlabi reiterated the Service’s commitment to balancing quality service delivery with the need to ensure passport services are accessible to all Nigerians. The new fees are set to take effect on September 1, 2025, and will apply to all passport applications made within Nigeria from that date.
