POLICE ARREST 2 MORE SUSPECTS CONNECTED TO MRS ODUMOSU’S KIDNAP

The Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, stated that operatives of the Lagos State CP Special Squad have arrested two suspects in connection with the kidnap of Mrs. Odumosu, the wife of Retired Assistant-Inspector General, AIG Hakeem Odumosu. The suspects, Agbojule Smart, 27, and Keleke Michael, 30, were arrested while on their way out of Lagos State. Adejobi said the suspects confessed to their crime, revealing they belonged to a gang of four, with two members previously neutralized. The police recovered N2.25 million, part of the requested ransom, two locally fabricated rifles, and 11 live cartridges from the suspects. The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, commended the police operatives for their gallantry in apprehending the suspects. Adejobi quoted the IGP as encouraging the operatives to maintain their high standard of competence in the fight against crime. The Nigeria Police Force reiterated its commitment to public safety and security, stating it remains steadfast in reducing crime to an absolute minimum and fostering peace across the nation. Adejobi added that the police will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the safety of all citizens.

ABUJA POLICE APPREHEND KOGI-BASED GOSPEL SINGER FOR RITUAL MURDER

The Abuja Police Command has arrested a gospel singer, Oluwatimileyin Ajayi, also known as Timileyin, from Kabba, Kogi State, for allegedly beheading his girlfriend, Eleojo Salome Adaidu, for ritual purposes. Security agents in Orozo area of Abuja became suspicious of Timileyin when they spotted him with a Polythene bag. Upon interrogation, he attempted to flee but was apprehended and the contents of the bag were discovered to be the severed head of his girlfriend. During questioning, Timileyin confessed to the crime, stating that he had been in a relationship with the victim for a year before killing her for ritual purposes. The police have taken custody of the suspect for further investigation and prosecution.

NIGERIA POLICE FORCE SUSTAINS FIGHT AGAINST KIDNAPPING, ARMED ROBBERY

The Nigeria Police Force has intensified its efforts to combat kidnapping, armed robbery, and other forms of criminality across the country. According to a press release signed by Force Public Relations Officer ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the police have successfully rescued numerous victims and apprehended several suspects over the past week. The Force Spokesman stated that coordinated operations were conducted in various states, including Lagos and Kwara States, resulting in the rescue of 13 individuals who had earlier been kidnapped and held for ransom On December 27, 2024, police operatives attached to the Kwara State Command stormed a den of kidnappers in the Idofin-Igbana area, overpowering the kidnappers and rescued 13 victims. ACP Adejobi further noted that on December 28, 2024, police operatives attached to the Lagos State Command arrested two individuals, Lawan Mustapha and Aina Daniel, and recovered one double-barrel rifle, 90 live cartridges, and five model rifles. Additionally, three suspected armed robbers were arrested at GRA Ikeja, with one locally made pistol, four live cartridges, and two cutlasses recovered. Adejobi reiterated that the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has committed to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens. The Force will continue its operations, leveraging all available resources to eradicate these heinous crimes from society.
