A recent attack by a suspected terrorist group on Border facilities and contractors on site at the Kangiwa Border in Kangiwa Local Government Area of Kebbi State has left four people dead. The attack, which occurred at about 1920 hours on Friday, 10th January 2025, resulted in the death of a local watchman and three contractors.

The Service Public Relations Officer, Nigeria Immigration Service, DCI KT Udo, in a statement, expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased. Udo stated that the Service is actively working alongside other sister security agencies to identify and apprehend those responsible for the heinous acts and bring them to justice.

DCI Udo noted that the attack led to substantial damages on the Service’s Border facilities. However, no Immigration officer was killed during the attack. Udo emphasized that the Nigeria Immigration Service remains steadfast in fulfilling its core mandate of Border Security, aligned with the overarching objective of enhancing National Security.

Udo reiterated the Service’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of its personnel and facilities. The Nigeria Immigration Service is working tirelessly to prevent such incidents in the future and to bring those responsible to justice.
