RONALDO INSPIRES PORTUGAL TO HISTORIC WIN OVER GERMANY

A resurgent Portugal, fueled by the brilliance of Cristiano Ronaldo, came from behind to defeat hosts Germany 2-1 in the UEFA Nations League semi-final. The victory marks the first time Portugal has beaten Germany in 25 years and sets up a final clash with the winner of the France-Spain tie.

Germany took the lead in the 46th minute through a header by Wirtz, but Portugal equalized in the 62nd minute with a swinger from Francisco. The Portuguese team seized initiative after the goal and piled pressure on the German defense. Ronaldo, Portugal’s talisman, had a chance to score the winning goal in the 67th minute, tapping in for his 137th goal for his country.

The German team struggled to regain momentum, with Adeyemi hitting the post in the 82nd minute. However, it was Portugal who held firm, thanks in part to some crucial saves from their goalkeeper. In the dying minutes of the game, Germany’s goalkeeper Tergan made two incredible saves at close range to deny Portugal’s attackers.

The win marks a historic moment for Portugal, and they will look to continue their form in the final against the winner of the France-Spain tie. The final is scheduled to take place on Sunday.
