GLOBAL DEMOGRAPHY REPORT REVEALS STARTLING STATISTICS ON MAN SHORTAGE

A recent report published by the UN has shed light on a staggering imbalance in the global population, sparking widespread discussion and concern. According to the 1st quarter Demography Report 2025, the world’s population stands at approximately 7.8 billion people, with a striking disparity between the number of women and men.

The report reveals that women make up around 5.6 billion of the global population, while men account for only about 2.2 billion. This significant gap has led to a so-called “man shortage” worldwide, prompting the UN to advise women to be cautious in their interactions with men.

Breaking down the statistics further, the report notes that out of the 2.2 billion men, one billion are already married, 130 million are in prison, and 70 million are mentally ill. This leaves only about 1 billion men available for marriage.

However, even this number is further reduced when considering factors such as unemployment, sexual orientation, and occupation. According to the report, 50% of the available men are jobless, 3% are gay, and 5% are Catholic priests. Additionally, 10% of the available men are relatives, and 32% are above the age of 66.

Given these statistics, the UN’s advice to women to handle men with respect takes on a new significance. As one observer noted, “Ladies, both the married and singles, should handle men with respect.” The report’s findings have sparked a lively debate about the implications of this man shortage and how it may impact relationships and societal dynamics worldwide.
