KWANKWASO REBUFFS TINUBU’S OVERTURES, VOWS TO CHALLENGE APC IN 2027

Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has revealed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu personally reached out to him on multiple occasions, urging him to return to the All Progressives Congress (APC). However, Kwankwaso has refused the overtures, citing the party’s departure from principle and justice. In a statement, Kwankwaso said, “President Tinubu assured me that all conditions I may have for returning would be met without hesitation. He said, and I quote, ‘All terms will be fulfilled; all conditions will be like pupils in your hands.’” Despite the promises, Kwankwaso said he would rather quit politics entirely than return to the APC. Kwankwaso expressed his disappointment with the APC government’s performance, citing issues such as insecurity, hunger, youth unemployment, economic decay, and worsening corruption. “The APC government, both under Buhari and now under Tinubu, has failed to address the core challenges confronting Nigerians,” he said. The senator emphasized that politics must be about service, integrity, and delivering real change, rather than positions or power-sharing. “I cannot in good conscience return to a party whose ideology is now based on personal interest, betrayal of the masses, and governance by propaganda,” he said. Kwankwaso announced plans to form a broad-based political movement that will challenge the APC in 2027. “We shall galvanize Nigerians, especially the youth, into a united force that will peacefully and democratically bring an end to the Tinubu government through the ballot box,” he said. The senator warned those in power that Nigerians are watching and will speak loud and clear in 2027. “No amount of political maneuvering, propaganda, or elite bargains will stop the will of the people when the time comes,” he said. Kwankwaso encouraged like-minded patriots to join hands with him to lay the foundation for a new Nigeria. “Our goal is not just to defeat APC in 2027, but to rebuild Nigeria from the ruins it has been plunged into by years of failed leadership,” he said.

KWANKWASO CONDEMNS DEFECTION, SAYS IT’S THE GREATEST POLITICAL SIN

The presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has strongly condemned the act of defecting to rival political parties after winning elections, describing it as the “greatest political sin.” Speaking at his residence in Kano, Kwankwaso criticized recent defections from the party, particularly those of Senator Abdurrahman Kawu Sumaila and Rep. Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, who recently joined the All Progressives Congress (APC). “There is no greater political sin than turning your back on the people who rejected deceivers and stood by you,” Kwankwaso said. He emphasized that the Kwankwasiyya movement is people-driven and not motivated by financial gain. “This movement is one to be proud of. Its mission is clear: to empower the people,” Kwankwaso stated. He also warned political opponents not to underestimate the strength of the Kwankwasiyya movement, calling it “a solid wall” that cannot be easily broken. Kwankwaso recounted how some politicians attempted to destabilize the Kwankwasiyya movement in 2015, but the movement survived due to its strong ideological foundation and the resilience of its supporters. “Some joined us with dishonest intentions,” he said. “But thank God, the movement did not derail.” The NNPP leader also criticized voters in Kano South who allegedly traded their votes for spaghetti and ₦2,000 during elections, contrasting them with the steadfast support from Kano’s poor masses. “Those who try to fight us soon realize how tough it is,” Kwankwaso warned. Kwankwaso concluded by congratulating new NNPP members from Takai Local Government Area and urging them to remain committed to the cause of uplifting the common man.
