GUNMEN ATTACK NEAR ABACHA BARRACKS BYPASS IN GUZAPE, ABUJA; MULTIPLE SUSPECTED ABDUCTIONS REPORTED

In a shocking incident near the Abacha Barracks bypass in Guzape, Abuja, gunmen launched a brazen attack on the night of February 25, leaving residents in a state of fear and panic. The incident, which occurred at approximately 11:31 p.m., has raised serious concerns about security in the nation’s capital. According to sources, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command swiftly responded to reports of the attack and initiated an investigation into the suspected abduction of several individuals. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered two abandoned vehicles—a black Toyota Prado Land Cruiser belonging to Hon. Shagala Samuel and a Honda Civic. It is suspected that the occupants of the vehicles were abducted by the armed assailants. A source close to the investigation disclosed, “The responding team immediately combed the surrounding area and nearby bushes, but no contact was made with the victims or the perpetrators.” Security operatives have since been placed on high alert at key entry and exit points across the FCT to prevent the suspects from fleeing the area. The abandoned vehicles have been recovered and taken to the police station for further investigation. Meanwhile, the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the FCT Police Command has intensified efforts to locate the victims and track down the culprits. In a statement, the police urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities in their neighborhoods. The command also assured the public that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure the safe rescue of the victims and the arrest of those responsible for the attack.
