LIVERPOOL STAR DIOGO JOTA’S HEARTBREAKING LAST MESSAGE TO WIFE BEFORE TRAGIC DEATH

Liverpool footballer Diogo Jota’s final public message to his wife Rute Cardoso has been revealed, just days before his tragic death in a car crash in Spain. Two days before the incident, Jota left a loving comment on Cardoso’s Instagram post, where she wrote “my dream came true” following their wedding on June 22. On the same day, Jota had also shared pictures of his wedding on his X handle, showcasing his happiness with his new wife. The heartfelt message showcased Jota’s love for his wife, and it’s a poignant reminder of the couple’s happiness just days before the devastating accident. Jota, 28, and his 26-year-old brother Andre were killed in the car crash, leaving the football world in shock. Jota’s football career began at Portuguese outfit Pacos de Ferreira before he moved to Atletico Madrid in 2016. During his time with the Spanish side, he underwent two loan spells at Porto and Wolves before completing a permanent transfer to the Premier League club in 2018. Two years later, he completed his £41million move to Liverpool, where he made over 100 appearances for the club and played a key role in winning the Premier League title last season. The Reds paid tribute to Jota, saying: “Liverpool Football Club are devastated by the tragic passing of Diogo Jota. The club have been informed the 28-year-old has passed away following a road traffic accident in Spain along with his brother, Andre. Liverpool FC will be making no further comment at this time and request the privacy of Diogo and Andre’s family, friends, teammates and club staff is respected as they try to come to terms with an unimaginable loss.” The Portuguese Football Federation has also paid tribute to Jota, describing him as “an extraordinary person, respected by all teammates and opponents, someone with a contagious joy and a reference within his own community.” The federation has asked UEFA for a minute’s silence before the match between Portugal and Spain in the Women’s European Championship. Jota’s death has sent shockwaves around the world, with many paying tribute to the talented footballer.
