PRESIDENT TINUBU CONGRATULATES SOLUDO ON RE-ELECTION, PRAISES VISIONARY LEADERSHIP

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Professor Chukwuma Soludo on his re-election as the governor of Anambra State, following the overwhelming victory he recorded in Saturday’s poll. This win makes Soludo the third governor in the state’s political history to secure a second term. Tinubu also extended congratulations to the people of Anambra State, the security agencies, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the peaceful and successful conduct of the governorship election. In a press statement issued on November 9, 2025, President Tinubu stated, “Professor Soludo’s re-election is a testament to his visionary leadership and the significant progress the state has made under his guidance.” He highlighted Soludo’s demonstration that “knowledge is power and that academic principles can be applied in serving the people, undergirding accountability, transparency and prudent management of people and resources.” Recalling his visit to Anambra State in May 2025, Tinubu noted that he inaugurated projects executed by the Soludo administration, describing the experience as “remarkable and indelible.” He commended Governor Soludo for bringing “discipline, grace, brilliance, and a fresh perspective to governance in Anambra,” adding that under him, “Anambra is living up to its motto as the Light of the Nation.” The President urged Soludo to be magnanimous in victory and to seek the cooperation of his opponents in the just-concluded elections. He assured the governor of his unwavering support and looked forward to continued collaboration between Anambra State and the Federal Government. Tinubu also addressed the electoral process, noting that the victory of the opposition All Grand Progressives Alliance demonstrates the vitality of Nigeria’s political system. He said, “The victory of any progressive and hardworking leader can hardly be encumbered or denied.” He thanked the new INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, and his team for conducting what observers described as a credible election. Tinubu charged the commission with maintaining the standards and further improving its performance to strengthen and deepen the electoral system.
