GOVERNOR ABDULLAHI SULE APPROVES N200M FOR MILITARY SUPER-CAMP IN NASARAWA STATE AFTER DEADLY ATTACK

A recent attack on the Katara Community in Pandan Development Area of Nasarawa State has left at least 10 people dead and three others injured. The attackers, suspected to be Fulani militia, invaded the community on motorcycles, shooting sporadically. Governor Abdullahi Sule has expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and assured the people of Panda Development Area that his administration is committed to establishing a Military Super-Camp in the area to coordinate security surveillance. “We have already started working on this, and I will approve the sum of N200 million required for the establishment of the Super-Camp without delay,” Governor Sule said. “There is no amount of money that is too much when it comes to the lives of our people.” The Governor also emphasized the need for the people of the state to live in peace with one another, saying, “Our aim in this state is to live in peace with everybody, anybody. We know the Constitution of Nigeria has given people the right to live where they wish, but we in Nasarawa State also have our wish that whoever wants to live in Nasarawa State must live in peace with one another.” The Nasarawa State Commissioner of Police, Shettima Jauro Muhammed, has assured the people of Tatara-Kwandoro electoral ward that the police will do everything possible to bring those involved in the attack to book. “We will make sure that all those who had committed this heinous crime are being fished out and dealt with. We are not going to spare anybody,” he said. The community has appealed to the government to set up a security outpost in Tatara to forestall future invasions.
