Ten people have been reportedly killed in separate attacks in Plateau State between Friday and Saturday. According to confirmations from community sources, seven people were killed in Kwi community, located in the Riyom Local Government Area, while three others were killed in Pushit community within the Mangu Local Government Area.

A community leader, Rwang Tengwon, confirmed the incidents, stating, “Kwi community was attacked on Friday by suspected Fulani militia, and seven persons were killed. One person was also killed on his farm Saturday afternoon, and another attack happened at night.”

The Pushit community attack was confirmed in a statement by the Mwaghavul Development Association, signed by its Director of Public Affairs, Friday Derwan. The statement read, “We call upon security operatives in our local government area and Plateau State to rise to the challenge of curbing these unwarranted assaults on innocent lives.”

Efforts to get official confirmation from the Plateau State Police Command were unsuccessful. The Command’s spokesman, Alabo Alfred, was not available when contacted, as his phone indicated it was switched off.
