A tragic domestic incident has shaken the community of Ado-Ekiti in Ekiti State, leaving two children orphaned. Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Leramo Caleb and his wife lost their lives in a violent altercation, which their son has described as a shocking and unexpected event.

According to the son, the evening before the incident seemed peaceful, with his parents playing and laughing together. “My father and my mum were playing that night of the incident. When my mum cooked, she went to visit her sick grandma because her grandma’s body was not well,” he recalled. “She came back home by 9pm. Even my dad could not eat because my mum was not around. He waited for her to come back. So we ate when my mum came back.”

The son stated that there were no visible signs of conflict between his parents before the tragic event. However, sources revealed that ASP Caleb had arrested a man linked to his wife in an extramarital affair, which reportedly escalated tensions within the household.
The son’s account took a horrific turn as he described being jolted from sleep by the sounds of a struggle between his parents. “While sleeping (during midnight), I was just hearing sounds, I woke up and woke my sister up too. I told my sister that I was hearing the sound of a cutlass, indicating that my mum and my daddy were fighting,” he said.

The altercation ended in tragedy, with the wife allegedly using a sharp object to sever her husband’s manhood before he bled to death. He reportedly attacked her with a machete before finally succumbing to his injuries, leading to her death as well.

The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the deaths, calling it a tragic and unfortunate domestic incident. The community is left to mourn the loss of the couple, and the son’s account serves as a poignant reminder of the devastating consequences of domestic violence.
